Slow and steady wins the race! And for this simple Carnitas recipe, we'll just say this slow-cooker marathon is worth the wait! Made with our new Carnitas Seasoning Slow Cooker Spice, these Carnitas are cooked on low for a few hours (or for 35 minutes in your pressure cooker!) until you smell the finish line of our Carnitas Seasoning Slow Cooker Spice in the air. Heat one of our Grain Free Cassava Flour Tortillas, plate with rice or your favorite side dish, and enjoy!

  1. Step 1

    In a slow cooker, add 2 ½ lbs of filling of choice and ½ cup of water. Cook on low setting for 6-7 hours (for pork shoulder) or until tender (for other fillings). ⁠
  2. Step 2

    Once filling is cooked, reserve ½ cup of cooking liquid, and drain the rest. ⁠
  3. Step 3

    Add carnitas seasoning packet to the filling with ½ cup of cooking liquid. Mix well. ⁠
  4. Step 4

    Enjoy in tacos (makes 24), with rice, rice alternative, or chef's choice. ⁠
  5. Step 5

    For crispy carnitas, spread the seasoned filling over a sheet tray, and broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes or until crispy. ⁠
