What is sweet, sour, and always is made with love? Tamarind Chile Paletas, of course! This frozen treat marries traditional ingredients that are found in Mexican-American candy, raspas (sno cones), and paletas. And—just like two peas in a tamarind pod—we believe the sweet and sour flavors in this Tamarind Chile Paleta are even better together!

  1. Step 1

    Place tamarind pods, agave nectar, chilli powder, and water in a pot and bring to a boil
  2. Step 2

    Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat
  3. Step 3

    Let pods sit in water and stir frequently to remove and dissolve tamarind paste from pods
  4. Step 4

    Strain liquid once all the tamarind paste has dissolved and place in paleta molds
  5. Step 5

    Freeze overnight
  6. Step 6

    Optional: Garnish with Tajin chile powder before serving
